Students will draw dragons inspired by the "Wings of Fire" book series with pencils (art pencils preferred). This course is beginner friendly but does take some dedication as dragons have a lot of detail. We will cover the basics of how to use different pencils for different values, and how to really draw the shapes and lines in the pictures we draw. With each drawing we will go over art elements and vocabulary (line, shape, color, value, form, texture, and space). We work through the...

Pencils, erasers, and paper. :) It is preferable to have art pencils, which have different H and B values, but normal school pencils can work just fine. I highly recommend a kneaded eraser because there are no "eraser crumbs" to wipe off the page and therefore, less smudging. It is also used to make different textures and shading. I use regular computer paper or a sketchbook. A blending stump, OR a q-tip, OR a kleenex is optional but helps a lot with blending/shading.
