Introduction (5 minutes)
I will begin by briefly explaining the goals of the lesson and what students will learn today.

Vocabulary Development (5 minutes)
We will focus on 5-7 key words from the book that are essential for understanding the story. I will use flashcards to introduce the words and ask students to come up with synonyms or draw quick sketches to represent the words.

Text Structure (5 minutes)
Discuss how the book is organized. Highlight elements such as the beginning, middle, and end, and how the story progresses. Students can map out the main events of the story using a simple graphic organizer.

Word Work (5 minutes)
Focus on a few challenging words from the book. Break the words into syllables and phonetic components. Have students practice spelling and pronouncing these words.

Grammar (5 minutes)
I will select a sentence from the book that demonstrates a key grammar point and break it down. Students identify parts of speech and rewrite the sentence with different adjectives or adverbs.

Figurative Language (5 minutes)
We will discuss examples of figurative language in the book, such as similes, metaphors, and personification. Students to identify and interpret the figurative language used.

 Closing and Reflection (5 minutes)
Quickly review what was covered in the lesson. I will ask students to share one new thing they learned about the book "Wild" or how they felt about the story.

Optional Homework: 
Drawing your favorite scene from the book and write a sentence using one of the new vocabulary words.

Extension Activities:
Have students write a short story about a wild adventure they imagine having.
Students create an art project inspired by the book, using natural materials like leaves and sticks.
