수업 소개

What will be taught? Students will learn about early historical events in Black History in America that led to the establishment of the Black Lives Movement.
What topics will you cover? The Euro-American slave trade, African Americans during the American Revolution, The Abolitionist Movement, Reconstruction/First African Americans in government, Jim Crow Laws, Civil Rights Movement, Black Lives Movement
How is your class structured? 1. Teacher will post the weekly assignments each Monday for students to complete during the week.
                                                2. Students will use organizers to fill-in the facts that they are given for each topic.
                                                3. Students will upload their organizers and their answers to the questions that pertain to the facts given.
                                                4. Students will be given an extension activity related to the topic that they will research and post a project
What's your teaching style? Facilitator
How much will learners get to interact with you and each other: 1. Students will be able to provide comments and questions on the projects posted by their classmates. 2. Teacher will give feedback on the organizers and projects. (Students may email teacher)
Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Students will need to know how to use Google for research
Week 1-  Students will be given facts about the Euro-American Slave Trade. 
               Students will write the facts into three organizers ( outline of the map of Africa, the outline of the Atlantic Slave Route, and of the map of North America).
              Students will upload their organizers and post their answers to the discussion questions for the weekly topic.
              Students will be given options to do an extension activity related to the Euro-American Slave Trade.
Week 2  Students will be given facts about African Americans during the American Revolution and the Abolitionist Movement.
              Students will create time-lines from the facts given about the (American Revolution and Abolitionist Movement)
              Students will upload their time-lines and post their answers to the discussion questions for the weekly topics.
              Students will be given options to do an extension activity related to the African Americans during the American Revolution and t
              the Abolitionist Movement.       
Week 3 Students will be given facts about Reconstruction, First African Americans in the U.S. government, and Jim Crow Laws
             Students will create a cause and effect chart using the facts given about (Reconstruction, First African Americans in the U.S.    
             government, and Jim Crow Laws)
             Students will upload their charts and post their answers to the discussion questions for the weekly topics. 
             Students will be given options to complete an extension activity related to African Americans during the American Revolution, First African Americans to hold government offices held by African Americans, or Jim Crow Laws.
Week 4 Students will be given the names and the facts of some of the protests that took place during the Civil Rights Movement and the causes for the establishment of the Black Lives Matter Movement.
             Students will create a compare and contrast organizer showing the similarities and differences between the various movements.
             Students will upload their compare/contrast charts and their answers to the discussion questions for weekly topics.
             Students will be given options to complete an extension activity related to the Civil Rights Movement or Black Lives Movement.
