수업 소개

In this FLEX course, students will be given several recipes and a demonstration of how to prepare a delicious meal to feed the whole family! Recipes for the course will be provided a week before the class starts, or within 24 hours of sign-up. I will also list any specific equipment needed to follow the recipes, such as a crock pot or air fryer.  Videos will be posted each week. Dietary adaptations will be suggested, but if there is something you would like to avoid, please communicate with me and I am happy to provide alternatives as much as possible! If you do not have some of the equipment, I can also provide substitutions or suggestions. In addition, while I will be making more complex versions of some dishes, such as homemade pasta or gravy, there are almost always simpler ways to make things or pre-made versions available for purchase! 
Each week, students will be asked to share a picture of their meal and write what they enjoyed about the cooking. I will also ask students to share 1 tip or trick they'd tell someone else making this recipe for the first time. Students will read through each other's tips for some new ideas! Finally, students are asked to share a short review of the recipe, rating it 1-5 stars and saying why they ranked it that way! 
Some recipes may ask students to prepare food before the lesson, such as chopping vegetables or marinating meat. I will always make a note of this and post reminders in the classroom. 

Week 1: Split pea and barley soup, and tea biscuits
Week 2: Chili and baked potatoes
Question: What sort of toppings do you like on your baked potato? 
Week 3: Mini meatloaves with minute rice and vegetables
Week 4: Chicken stirfry with ramen noodles and homemade spice mix. 
Describe how you feel about the homemade spice mix--do you think it tastes different from the processed seasonings?

학부모 가이드
Students will be using a variety of kitchen tools that could present some safety concerns, such as an oven, knives, boiling oil, hot surfaces, etc. Parental guidance recommended as needed. When cooking, common allergens may be present, not limited but including nuts, soy, gluten, dairy, and a variety of others. Please check the recipes carefully and let me know if you would like a substitution for any ingredients.

A list of recipes will be provided before the start of class, and will include any specialized equipment, such as a crock pot. Students will also need common kitchen items such as measuring cups/spoons, mixing bowls and spoons, pots, pans, a cookie sheet, an oven and a stove, etc. If you have questions or do not have one of the tools listed, please contact me!
