In this one-time class lead by an autistic adult, autistic students will get to share what being autistic means to them. This class promotes a positive view of autism but will also give students a chance to share some of their struggles with being autistic as well as sharing the things they like about themselves because of being autistic. I am an autistic adult who has been working with autistic children and teens for 5 years as a tutor, community support worker, and classroom aide. Not only do I have both personal and professional experience with autism but I also have 10 years of teaching experience and an associate's degree in special education. I have worked with many autistic children and teens who are all in different places on the spectrum and have different, unique, strengths, and challenges. I have also been working with autistic students on Outschool since January, if you have any concerns please feel free to contact me or to read the reviews on any of my other autism-related classes, especially my autism social groups, as they have the most feedback.
