Welcome to Wellie Wisher’s outdoor adventure in camping! In this two-part class, which meets once a week for two-weeks, we will take a fun look at how the friends prepare for their camping trip and how the friends turn a disaster into a memorable camping adventure. We will explore how they learn that “good friends,” are the most important thing needed for a great time and talk about what makes a good friend. The students will learn about what makes a good friend and identify "good friend" traits in the Wellie Wisher girls. Students will work together to identify the problem the friends are having and how they each respond to the problem. Students will learn to find "evidence in the text/story line," to support what they think. Students will discuss how the problem was resolved and share what they would do. Students will help make a list of "must have" supplies on a campout.
I have taught book studies to students of all ages both with homeschool groups and in school settings.

Before the first class the student will need to read Chapters 1 & 2. Reading time and discussion 30 minutes Before the second class the student will need to read chapters 3-5. Reading time and discussion 60 minutes or less. A Pre/After reading questions handout will be included in the registration. A one page handout for pre/after reading questions will be provided upon registration. Student will need a copy of the book, "Willa's Wilderness Campout." There will also be handout attachments that will be available upon registration. They are helpful to print and refer to but not necessary as they will be shown on screen in class. SNACK NEEED: Students can bring their doll and camp-style snack to have at the end of class together.
30-45 minutes for reading before each class and to discuss the short and simple discussion questions on the handout given at registration.
