수업 소개
영어 수준 - 알 수 없음
미국 2학년 - 4학년 학년
In this ongoing class, students will participate in weekly exciting and engaging STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) challenges using simple materials found at home. Each class will begin with an introduction to the challenge of the week through a presentation, video clips, images etc... Ms. Erin will ask the students many different questions to encourage their critical thinking and logical reasoning skills. Students will be encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas. Students will then begin working on their projects while continuing to discuss and share ideas. If students finish during the class time, they may present their findings and results. Some students may require extra time to complete the challenges. They are welcome to post their results in the classroom. Here is the breakdown of the weeks: Week of November 17: Build a Launcher Supplies Needed: Popsicle sticks (big ones work better, but the regular size work too) Rubber bands A plastic bottle cap or small paper cup Glue or tape Scissors Cotton balls/pom poms/marshmallows A small bowl Week of November 24: Floating Fruit Week of December 1: Newspaper Towers Week of December 8: Snowflake Building Week of December 15: Christmas Challenges Week of December 22: NO CLASS Week of December 29: NO CLASS Week of January 5: Make a Maze Week of January 12: Build a Roller Coaster Week of January 19: Magnetic Sculptures Week of January 26: Bridges Week of February 2: Build a Windmill Week of February 9: Penny Spinners Week of February 16: Toothpick Towers Week of February 23: Train Tracks Week of March 2: Invent Your Own Game **Daylight Savings** Week of March 9: Vacation Station Week of March 16: Create Your Own Experiment Week of March 23: The Almost Nothing Challenge Week of March 30: Anything But Blocks Challenge No prior knowledge about any of the concepts is required in order to participate in this class. 그 외 세부 사항
학부모 가이드
Some of the challenges may require the use of scissors or possibly a hot glue gun and will require parental supervision. I will always indicate this in the classroom.
수업 자료
I will post the materials in the classroom one week before each class. **If you register after the weekly message is posted, you may not be able to see it in the classroom. I try my best to email the list to new students before their first class, depending on how last minute they register. Materials are usually easy to find household items. I also recommend students bring a notebook or folder with paper so they may record their findings each week! If you are ever missing any of the materials, just let me know! There are always alternatives, or you can simply watch the activities and still enjoy the class! Week of November 17: Build a Launcher Supplies Needed: Popsicle sticks (big ones work better, but the regular size work too) Rubber bands A plastic bottle cap or small paper cup Glue or tape Scissors Cotton balls/pom poms/marshmallows A small bowl
