Calling all Creatives! In this One-Time class we talk about two points of business and what it means to be an entrepreneur. For now- "Kidpreneur" is a great starting point. The first point is: what do you like to do and what are you interested in? There is a fun activity we will do in class to help you narrow down this list. The second point is: how to make money and understand these two are not necessarily the same thing. Some people say just "follow your passion" which is great advice but...
Everyone everywhere has had an idea for a business or book. Learners will have this opportunity to really brainstorm ideas with the other learners and from inspiration generated from the case studies of other kids. Just because we have an idea or even a great idea does not mean anything will ever happen with it. This class is going to give some structure to your budding entrepreneur by making sure they (write down the idea) and save it in a place where all the ideas go. Most entrepreneurs have many ideas and sometimes it can be overwhelming so it is so helpful to document each idea as it comes. Learners will also learn about how to timestamp the idea to protect it. By the end of class learners will have gained an understanding between an idea, a passion they are interested in, how to make money and how these are not all the same necessarily. Learners will gain confidence to create a business even at a young and why this can give them an advantage in future business creations. Learners will also take away what it means to work at a job for someone else versus working for yourself and how both have pros and cons. Lastly, we will touch base on the future and modern ideas about retirement, streams of income and what security can mean for different people.
My first business was born out of helping someone else when they came to me asking for advice for fitness. I helped my "first client" before I knew I wanted to make a business. From there it grew into this idea that- if I can help someone else with "my product or service" then I could make money and even build a business. I completed my Masters in Health Coaching and my program taught fundamentals of business. From there I was hooked and excited to research and study how to be an entrepreneur. I've now worked for myself for 16 years and had several businesses. I love to encourage students to build a business of their own. My teaching experience is broad as I have been lucky enough to teach what I love the most- wellness and a healthy lifestyle. My initial training comes from (my own health journey) where from the young ages of 15-20 years old, I struggled with my self-confidence, body image and being a healthy person. After being able to self-heal my mental and emotional challenges I began formal education. I focused on the anatomy and physiology in a sports massage program and became Licensed in two states. The following are my trainings, Masters Degree and certifications as I have 2000 hours in training clients and students in the field of wellness and fitness. I had my own private business in CA, Aspen and Nashville both seeing clients and students in-person and online/phone. -Nationally Board Certified as a Holistic Health Counselor HHC -Certified Holistic Nutritionist -Certified Personal Trainer -Certified Yoga Instructor -Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition and Psychological Coaching -Licensed Anatomical and Physiological Sports Massage Therapist
Parents can encourage their budding entrepreneur by looking at modern ideas about what it means to retire, multiple streams of income and what security can mean to different people.
