Among Us is not only for random video game fun! It teaches learners valuable communication skills, collaboration with teammates, critical thinking and reasoning, and how to use a basic map. Learners have to use deduction to find out who the imposter is, convince their Crewmates to vote with them, or reasonably defend themselves if they are accused of being the imposter. **Please note that while these are cartoon images, there is an element of violence in this game. Imposters "kill" other players and non-bloody animations of getting stabbed in the back or necks broken are shown in the game. Parental guidance and discretion highly advised.*** This class should not require the sharing of gamer tags. Instructions and screenshots will be included in the welcome message. Please go to the game settings on the main menu and click "gameplay." Then scroll down and make sure the green check mark is beside the "Hide username" option. Then, click play game, and chose the direct join option. There will be a keyboard to enter a code that will be given by the teacher. The code will only be active and available during the scheduled time only.
Learners need to have an Oculus Meta Quest 2 and Among Us downloaded on the headset prior to taking this class.
