In Voices of Adventure: Create, Perform & Star in a Pro Podcast, young actors will develop voice acting skills, build confidence, and collaborate to bring a classic and culturally significant story to life in a professionally produced podcast episode. This interactive six-week course provides hands-on experience with voice acting techniques, character creation, and podcast production, culminating in an IMDb credit for each student’s work. Every student in this class must sign a voice waiver to be published in the episode and earn IMDb credit. How is the class structured Each session runs 90 minutes and follows an interactive format with a mix of - Warm-ups and vocal exercises to develop control and confidence - Script work and performance coaching to refine character voices - Listening to professional recordings for reference and analysis - Live recording sessions where students record lines for the podcast - Group discussions and peer feedback to encourage collaboration - Behind-the-scenes insights into the podcast production process The final week includes a listening party where students celebrate their work, hear the final production, and learn how to list their credits on IMDb. Teaching style This class is engaging, supportive, and performance-driven. The instructor uses a collaborative and encouraging approach, ensuring every student feels confident and prepared. Students must have an external USB microphone or a podcast-compatible Zoom setup to ensure high-quality recordings. A built-in computer microphone is not sufficient for this class.
Students will be recording their voices for a professionally produced podcast episode. Every participant must have a signed voice waiver to be included in the final production and to receive an IMDb credit.
This class requires a quiet recording space, but a fully soundproof environment is not necessary.
The stories performed in class will be classic and culturally significant tales adapted for young actors, ensuring age-appropriate content. If any story contains potentially intense themes, it will be adjusted to maintain a kid-friendly approach.
No third-party tools or accounts are required beyond Zoom with an appropriate podcast-compatible audio setup. Students will be guided through every step of the recording and performance process in a supportive and structured environment.
