In this continuing English language class, we will focus on one new vocabulary word each week. By focusing on a single word, learners will have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of that word. Learners can join this ongoing class at any time, as these classes do not build upon each other. Each class learners will be introduced to one new 3rd grade vocabulary word. We will discuss the definition of the new vocabulary word, as well as how it is used. Learners will then use drawing to share and express their understanding of the new vocabulary word. Drawing not only requires students to activate their critical thinking skills, but also makes the learning more engaging. Vocabulary Word List (by week)* May 18-24: education May 18-24: education May 25-31: beard June 1-7: error June 15-21: scatter June 22-28: gentle June 29-July 5: decorate July 6-12: chemical July 13-19: hidden July 20-26: celebrate July 27-August 2: repair August 3-9: receive August 10-16: pollution August 17-23: senior August 24-30: suggest August 31-September 6: eager *The Vocabulary Word List will be updated as new classes are added to the schedule. This ongoing class is suitable for advanced 2nd graders, on-level 3rd graders, struggling 4th graders, English language learners (ELL/ESL), and any level of drawing skills (i.e. stick figures welcome).

Drawing materials are optional, as learners can draw in the Zoom classroom. Optional drawing materials can be anything the learner prefers: i.e. pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, crayons, paper, white boards, tablets with drawing apps, etc.
