In this one time class, students will learn about Vincent Van Gogh's famous sunflower paintings. We will talk about Van Gogh's style and his life, while drawing a beautiful bouquet of flowers in Van Gogh's style. We will use chalk or oil pastels and learn different techniques of drawing, such as cross hatching, and contour line drawing. We will also use lots of blending. Gesture and stroke will be important to draw the flowers. I will give students a brief slideshow at the beginning of...
Students will learn about Van Gogh's life, and his style of painting. Students will learn new techniques using chalk or oil pastels to make a "painterly" drawing. Students will learn color blending techniques. Students will gain confidence in their artistic ability.
