This fourteen week, semester long course will cover American History from the creation of the colonies to Present Day. This course is designed to be a survey course, with introductory information provided on each weekly topic. Each week, a project, reading assignment, or online activity will be provided to students. On several occasions, the instructor will recommend films pertaining to the weekly topic for students to view on their own time. While all of these activities are optional, they are highly recommended. To be provided by Instructor) Frankin D Roosevelt's 'Day of Infamy' Speech Marshall Plan Speech George Kennen's 'Long Telegram' Text of the Korean War's Armistice Patrol: An American Soldier in Vietnam by Walter Dean Myers Understanding September 11th by Mitch Frank Many of these sources are found easily online or at your local library. Other texts will be provided by the instructor in the classroom. The two texts that may need to be purchased are 'Understanding September 11th' and 'Patrol: An Amerian Soldier in Vietnam.' Both texts are available on Amazon.

All content will be appropriate for the age group of this class. For assigned films, parents and guardians will be notified when the film is assigned of any content that may be concerning. This will allow parents and guardians to elect whether to allow their learner to view the film.
We will be using several texts throughout this course. The instructor will provide PDFs of the text, but all text will be easily accessible on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or your local library if you would prefer to purchase or check out your own copy.
