Welcome to our 4-week ongoing math course where students will develop the ability to solve two-step word problems with ease and confidence.

Throughout this course, students will learn the strategies and techniques necessary to tackle complex two-step word problems. We understand the importance of not only recognizing key words in the problems but also comprehending the underlying meaning of each problem. By focusing on understanding the context and requirements of the problems, students will learn how to solve them effectively, even when there are no apparent key words present.

My teaching approach follows the I do, we do, you do model. In the beginning, I will demonstrate the thought process and solution steps for a problem, providing a clear example for students to follow. In the "we do" section, we will work together on several problems, gradually increasing student participation. As the class progresses, students will take on more independent problem-solving tasks during the "you do" portion. Throughout the course, we will engage in discussions about their thought processes, address any mistakes, and promote a supportive environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities for learning and growth.

I firmly believe that math can be enjoyable for all students. My goal is to create a positive and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. I understand that mistakes are an essential part of the learning process, providing valuable insights for future improvement.

Prerequisites: Students must be able to solve one step word problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication AND division.
