Through engaging slides, videos, and fun activities, learners will: ~Discover the history of the Underground Railroad and the brave individuals who risked everything for freedom. ~Learn about the hidden codes and symbols used to guide people to safety. Create their own quilt block inspired by the freedom codes! I will check in daily to answer questions and provide feedback on learners’ work. Expect responses within 24 hours.

I will be presenting age-appropriate materials on the underground railroad. This class will focus on the history of the Underground Railroad, where we’ll explore the important role of Freedom Codes and the courageous journeys of those seeking freedom.

Materials Needed 1.Surface for Your Design A square piece of paper, poster board, or any blank surface you're comfortable with. (For reference, I painted my star on a 24x24 board.) 2. Pencil & Eraser A pencil for sketching your design. Eraser for corrections. 3. Coloring Tools Use whatever you’d like to color your creation! Options include: Paint Markers Colored pencils Crayons 4. Ruler For creating straight lines and precise measurements, if desired. 5. Optional Tools Compass (for circular elements). Black fine-tip marker for outlining or adding details.
