This class is designed to enhance the student's participation in a school band program. Beginners and developing students alike can benefit from some attention to tone development. Instruction Method: Students will learn through an interactive call and response discussion. The instructor then models the skills. The student will learn to identify what is and is not a good tone quality, what influences tone quality (positively and negatively), the skills necessary to develop the ideal tone quality, and then how to maintain good tone while learning new skills. The student will practice the concepts as modeled by the instructor and written on class worksheets.
The teacher has over 3 decades of experience as a beginning band instructor and private brass instrument teacher. He performs on both the trumpet and trombone.
