Join me, author Meeg Pincus, for an engaging read-aloud & chat about my award-winning nonfiction picture book WINGED WONDERS: Solving the Monarch Migration Mystery.

I will introduce the book, read it aloud, then chat with learners about its topic (endangered monarch butterflies & citizen science), why & how I wrote it (including working with real wildlife scientists), how it was illustrated & published, and answer learners' questions. (Note this session can count as both ELA & STEM!) My approach is warm & welcoming.

WINGED WONDERS asks the question: who tracked the Great Monarch Butterfly Migration? Then it introduces young readers to all the people from Canada to Mexico who figured out the details of the monarchs' miraculous yearly journey—and ends with the readers themselves.

This book was the winner of The Golden Kite Nonfiction Honor Award (a prestigious award from the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators), a top-4 finalist for the AAAS/Subaru Award for STEM children's books, a National Council of Teachers of English Notable Book in Language Arts, a Kirkus Best Picture Book, and more.
