Student progress is determined on participation in class and the noticeable development of the skills introduced in the class via individual performance in a call and response teaching strategy. Students who make sufficient progress will be encouraged to enroll in the next course or private lessons. 수업 소개
This class is specifically for young trombone players to learn how to move the slide smoothly with as little effort as possible to keep the tone as transparent as possible. The class is structured to allow students to discuss what they learned prior to the course or in the previous class session, group rehearsal of the skill previously introduced, call and response verification of skill development, introduction of the next skill and exercises by the teacher with skill practice within the same class session, review and assignment. Prerequisite: at least one year of band or trombone lessons (or 2/3rd of the year for the 2019-2020 school year), able to play at least one octave (B-flat to B-flat). Recommended: Trombone Time 101: Truly Transparent Tone and Trombone Time 102: Articulation-Enunciating the Notes

The student will learn: 1) slide care and maintenance, 2) appropriate posture, hand position, and grip, 3) developing a flexible wrist motion and fluid arm movements, 4) foundational techniques to consistently put the slide in the same spot for the notes, 5) exercises to develop fluid, flexible slide technique, 6) melodies useful for practicing the techniques.

A washcloth (specifically dedicated to catching moisture being drained from the "spit valve") 5. An eager willingness to learn
