숙제
주당 1시간. After each session, we will send the assignments for the week to the parent's email via the Outschool Messaging system. This will usually include a few songs to practice, and musical concepts to review. Learners will progress at different paces based on how often they practice. We typically recommend practicing 3-4 times a week, for 5-10 minutes a day. Consistency is better than one long practice session once a week!보고계신 지문은 자동 번역 되었습니다

This class will go over the basics of playing piano, including talking about what a piano looks like, pitches that go higher or lower, good piano posture, and navigating the keyboard. There will also be a time to ask any questions about what repeated piano lessons with Ms. Ashley or Miss Olivia would look like. If you choose to sign up for repeated piano lessons with Ms. Ashley or Miss Olivia, here are some details on my teaching method! In these one-on-one classes, intended to be scheduled on a weekly or biweekly basis, we will teach you or your child how to play the piano. Designed with young children in mind, this class will provide a well-rounded introduction to piano basics. We will begin with the foundations of music theory and play songs of progressive difficulty, until you are an independent piano pro! We believe learning should be fun, so lessons will consist of a mix of playing songs, music theory activities, and educational games. We use the My First Piano Adventures Faber Curriculum together, using both the Lesson Book and Writing Book. Once you feel confident, we can supplement our lesson books with other songs of your choice. We’ve had students play everything from Moonlight Sonata to the My Little Pony theme song. Maybe you can even compose your own piece! Topics we cover include: Rhythm and Tempo Note Recognition and Reading Good Posture and Form Stylistic Aspects of Music, including Dynamics (Volume) These are private, individualized 1:1 piano lessons intended to introduce your child to the piano. Let’s have fun and learn together!

Ms. Ashley: Ashley holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The University of Connecticut and a CT Teaching Certification in grades Pre K-12 in all concentrations of music from Central Connecticut State University. While in college, she was an active member of the UConn Opera Outreach program, which aimed to bring the love of opera into the public school music classroom.
Ashley prides herself in having taught elementary choral/general music teacher in both rural and urban public school districts throughout the state of Connecticut. She began her private teaching career in 2011 teaching students of all ages. As a private music teacher, Ashley has guided her students to achieve lead roles in musicals such as "The Little Mermaid," "Shrek Jr.," and "High School Musical." Additionally, many of her students have earned prestigious accolades, including top marks at select regional festivals across Connecticut and numerous school solos.
Ashley has performed in churches, opera houses, and major venues including the Bushnell, Lincoln Center and the Candlelight Processional at Disney World.
Miss Olivia: Given that my mom is a composer and piano teacher, I have been musically-minded my entire life. I started teaching private piano and voice lessons when I was 16, and have now been going strong for 8 years, teaching kids, teens and adults both in-person and online. My youngest student was just 3 years old, and my oldest is currently 77!
While my approach is grounded in classical piano methods with an emphasis on learning music theory, I love to help students explore other genres of music that are exciting to them.
My personal areas of specialty are classical piano, musical theatre, and jazz. I took classical piano lessons for 12 years, studied classical voice for 8 years, and performed in more than 15 stage musicals with school, community theatre, and local professional groups. I also spent 8 years playing saxophone and singing with jazz bands in the Seattle area. I have been a member of funk bands, a capella groups, gospel choirs, and even composed several of my own orchestral pieces. My multifaceted musical background allows me to introduce students to a wide variety of musical styles and pursue directions that resonate with them the most.
In addition to teaching private piano and voice, I have assistant directed a family community theatre production, facilitated piano- and music-themed summer camps, and volunteered leading music classes for kids at a community home in Bolivia. I love music!
