Students will work their way through a treasure map listening to and solving clues. As each clue is solved students will search through their homes for an item that fits the clue. (For example: “When I’m tired and want to sleep, I might want this to hold and to keep.”) Once they have found one item that fits the clue, (there are sometimes multiple items that will work for each clue), they will have an opportunity to show and share it, being encouraged to think of descriptive words...
This class will help students develop their social skills, interacting with others, and listening when others are sharing. It will also give students the opportunity to grow in their communication skills as they will all have the chance to share about their items. In their sharing, they will also be able to work on their English skills as they will be encouraged to use descriptive words (adjectives) and talk about their items using full sentences. Each riddle clue will also give students the chance to problem solve and work out what the riddle means. All while having fun.
