Students MUST have some previous piano experience to join in this class. Students need to be able to read notes in middle C position. 
For students who have taken lessons from me - if you have completed class 2-5 you would fit great into this class! 

In this 5 week piano lesson course students will learn to play up to 6 Christmas themed songs on the piano. We will use Faber's Pretime Piano Christmas book as our guide. This book can be purchase on Amazon. 

The songs I plan to teach from this book and the class breakdown will go something like this - 
Week 1- Jolly Old Saint Nicholas
Week 2- Jingle Bells
Week 3- Good King Wenceslas
Week 4- Up On the Housetop
Week 5 Over the River and Through the Woods & I Saw Three Ships. 
This is subject to change as the amount of time it takes to teach the songs thoroughly can vary. 

Each lesson will last for 30 minutes. During this class we will discuss musical terms such as quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, repeat signs, dynamic signs, first and second endings etc.  Each song has its individual rhythm and style which we will discuss as well. 
By the end of this class your learner will be able to serenade you with several new Christmas pieces on piano!  There is no better way to get into the holiday spirit. :)

My style of teaching generally goes like this - I introduce the music and play and teach a short piece and then ask the learners to take turns playing the short piece for me. We continue this way until the whole song and its particular musical terms are learned. 
Students will be asked to participate by answering questions and playing along with the class.

Learners will be asked to practice each piece of music outside of class at least 3 times everyday to be ready to perform the piece for the class on the following lesson day. 
Students MUST have a piano or keyboard to make this class useful. 

I will work with the learners at their own pace. The more time the students devote to practicing outside class the more we will be able to accomplish inside class. 

*Please be on time to class as I will lock the classroom 10 minutes into class as it is difficult to catch a learner up at that point without boring the students who were punctual. Also, I want your learner to get all the information and not miss out on anything! :)
