In this class, students will learn and practice their multiplication facts.

This class is open to students of all knowledge levels. We will cover the basics of what multiplication is in the beginning of the class, and we will spend ample time on each set of facts. However, for students who are already familiar with multiplication facts, we will also study multiplication facts by 11, 12, and we will study word problems using multiplication. Thus, all students can benefit from this class.

The class will follow a structure as follows:
Week 1: Intro to Multiplication and Multiplying by 2
Week 2: Multiplying by 3
Week 3: Multiplying by 4
Week 4: Multiplying by 5
Week 5: Zero Property of Multiplication (Multiplying by 0)
Week 6: Identity Property of Multiplication (Multiplying by 1)
Week 7: Multiplying by 6
Week 8: Multiplying by 7
Week 9: Multiplying by 8
Week 10: Multiplying by 9
Week 11: Multiplying by 10
Week 12: Multiplying by 11
Week 13: Multiplying by 12
Week 14: Solving multiplication word problems
Week 15: Practicing with all the multiplication facts
Week 16: Group Project

Each week, students will be provided with lecture videos, Nearpod exercises, and Kahoot! practice quizzes to practice the multiplication skills covered that week. At the end of the class, a leaderboard will be put together of all the scores that the students made on the Kahoot! practice quizzes. The Nearpod exercise results will be used by the teacher to identify which students may need more help.

The group project at the end will involve the students finding real world examples of multiplication problems. Students will be asked to photograph and describe the real-world situation, as well as complete the associated multiplication problem. We will then combine all of the examples into a short story about someone encountering each situation.
