Like in the younger class, I will use a combination of lecture, PowerPoint and video to teach about Native harvest festivals, the true story of the 1621 feast, and modern Native perspectives on "Thanksgiving." Students will have time to ask questions and discuss their thoughts. We will be able to discuss more details than in the younger version of this class. I will start by teaching about harvest festivals as celebrated by Native nations since long before European contact and still today....
I am a Lipan Apache woman and mother who loves teaching about Native peoples. Truthful education about us is important and I love to help people of all ages learn accurate information about us.

A discussion on the Pequot Massacre of 1637 will take place and will be discussed in relation to the National Day of Mourning, which also touches on the subject of genocide. A mention of Lincoln ordering 38 Dakota men to be hanged is also part of the class. A brief mention of "suicide, alcoholism, and poverty" is mentioned in a video I use.
