With the understanding that students read the class beforehand, we will simply discuss it in class. I will ask study questions to guide the discussion to encourage student reflection on: 1) What the poem tells us about Greek society 2) What the poem tells us about Greek religious practice 3) What we can learn from Hesiod in our own day.

- As we read these stories, we will learn how to 1) Read a story in its historical context 2) Identify literary features to identify an author's intended themes 3) Compare the story's values with our own culture
I have been tutoring both Greek and Latin for the last five years, having taught Latin in school for the last two. I am currently teaching a high school literature class that enables students to earn college credit.
