     - Explain the Valley of Ashes Symbolism
     - Identify Character Perceptions of Gatsby
     - Analyze Owl Eyes Symbolism
     - Explain Gatsby's Background and Relationships
     - Analyze Quotes such as "They're such beautiful shirts..." 
     - Analyze Doctor T.J. Eckleburg and Eye Symbolism
     - Sort through Truth and Fiction

I have taught this novel every year that I professionally taught. I hope that students enjoy the powerful and exhilarating action novel of The Great Gatsby. It is something I have covered with sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school and have covered this novel in several Socratic Seminar discussion-based courses in tutoring sessions and in classic novel studies on Outschool. Students will be asked to read the novel outside of class as we will not have time to read in class due to our discussions. If you have questions, please let me know!
