I have been teaching speech and debate classes for 14 years. I hold a Masters in Secondary Education and have been award a Double Diamond award by the National Speech and Debate Association. This game is modeled after a very popular exercise I have done hundreds of times with elementary, middle school and high school students. My experience has allowed me to perfect my time management to ensure all learners get an equal opportunity to participate and complete the activity.
Paper and Pen
This lesson is politics free. Since we are debating a fictional scenario we are able to focus on the argumentation skills without the discussion of current events. Additionally, the content is designed to be appropriate for all ages.
