I've created a year-round schedule for my Excellent Reader Jr classes by adding The Excellent Reader Jr: 5th Grade Reading and Writing Fun Class for the summer.
The summer 2024 schedule includes a week off from July 1-4.
Completion of this eight-week class will see your students reading three books including one biographical book of their own choosing, writing several short essays, one book report, their own graphic novelette, and learning several oral Language Arts techniques. Additionally, this class will include book discussions, fun and interesting writing assignments, and lots of sharing opportunities. While this will be an ungraded summer course, constructive feedback is available on all written and uploaded assignments. I’m so glad you have decided to join the Fifth Grade Language Arts Summer Reading and Writing Fun Course.

The biographical book report portion of this class is student-led, meaning students, with the help of their parents, will be choosing a biographical book for their report. When choosing your book, please choose age-appropriate titles for the 5th-grade level.
The Mysterious Benedict Society follows four children, two boys and two girls, who are chosen for a very important mission. A secret mission that only the most intelligent and inventive children could complete. To accomplish it they will have to go undercover at the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened, where the only rule is that there are no rules. What they'll find in the hidden underground tunnels of the school is more than your average school supplies. So, if you're gifted, creative, or happen to know Morse Code, they could probably use your help.
The Swiss Family Robinson: Graphic Novel is the abridged version of Johann David Wyss's original book of the same name. Written as a family-friendly book in the same genre as the less family-friendly Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, the story follows The Robinson Family as they make a life for themselves after becoming shipwrecked on a deserted island. This story is a wonderful example of teamwork, family support, and determination.

Saving my profile will allow you to receive 4th and 5th Grade Language Arts class listing updates. I teach year-round with classes beginning mid-September, mid-January, and mid-May.
Having taught for many years, I have learned the key to being a great educator is to, "Never Stop Learning!" To that end, I am always making exciting discoveries that allow me to improve my knowledge and skills in a variety of areas. Specifically, I am passionate about Literature, Public Speaking, and Life Skills and truly believe that knowledge in these areas is particularly important to achieve a full and happy life.
Through Outschool, My passion is to provide excellent Language Arts classes for 4th and 5th-grade students. This is the time in a student's education when they move from learning to read to reading to learn.
I have now listed three age-appropriate classes per grade level. These classes are specifically designed to provide your student with a fun, educational, and exciting way to grasp all of the 4th and 5th-grade ELA Common Core expectations.
In the fall, your student may take either 4th or 5th-grade ELA (Semester One) courses. In the spring (January), your student may take either 4th or 5th grade ELA (Semester Two). In the summer, I'll be teaching my grade-specific eight-week Summer Reading and Writing Fun Courses.
Graduating with a degree in K-8 education and completing an emphasis in Reading and Math for all levels, I have had the privilege to teach public, private, and homeschooled students in grades k-12. Not only have I taught my three loves as listed above, but have enjoyed expanding my knowledge by teaching math, science, and history.
I believe learning should be an adventure worth taking and must include both teacher and learner engaging together. As a teacher, I am also a learner, and as a learner, your students are also teachers, by engaging together as a classroom of teachers and learners, my classes will work for a variety of learning styles including but not limited to the visual, auditory and tactile learning styles.
When I'm not teaching, I'm walking, reading, sewing, cooking, watching baseball, and loving on my family.리뷰
