수업 소개
In our sketching class, we will explore some of the more popular and effective tools that we can use to bring our sketches to life. There are different pencil and eraser tips and techniques that can take our simple lines and shapes, to forms with depth and design. Any ability level is welcome, as these skills will be basic enough for any learner, yet can be applied at whatever level a more ambitious artist may wish. I am so excited to share some simple ways to help you feel more accomplished in your drawings, even if stick figures are your best friend! There is no wrong way to enjoy art, so welcome to a class where you will always be encouraged to take pride in each small step in the process.

Students with learn the different types of pencils that are available to any artist. These include different graphite values and charcoal options. We will explore different erasers and paper as well to give us the best results for our intended drawings. My goal is to take some of the fear out of the sketching experience, to make it less intimidating for the learner.

Learners will need any pencils accessible to them. If desired, they may purchase a small artist sketch kit, usually available from departments stores at a small price. Paper, even typical white copy paper will do. Any drawing or sketching paper or book is welcome. I would suggest a sharpener of some sort and an eraser, either on the pencil, or an extra such as a white or pink gum eraser.

Hello! My name is Chantal Drezek. I graduated many years ago, from Framingham State University in Massachusetts and taught the second grade. I have also tutored many multiple age/ability levels and have had many successful and wonderful experiences with students integrated through our advanced ESL program. Math was my minor and love in college, along with Art study. These topics would be my primary focus and strength to share, although I welcome many more opportunities as well. I currently teach online to China and adore the students that I have been blessed to connect with! I love watching children making connections to the world around them and watching them take pride in their accomplishments. I am blessed to experience this daily with my own 5 children, throughout our personal life experiences and our homeschool academic journey, as they approach each day with new wonder and enthusiasm.
