Hello! My name is Roxanne Phoenix. I live in Sydney. I am an award winning filmmaker, human rights lawyer and musician. I am filming documentaries independently with my son only. We started our filmmaking journey at the same time as our worldschooling journey when my son was seven. Now he is twelve. Our documentaries are participating in the international festivals and winning awards. I was studying filmmaking in Sydney Film School in Parramatta. I studied documentaries in Metro School in Sydney. I have a Master Degree in Human Rights Law from the UNSW. I also have a TEFL certificate and I used to volunteer in teaching children. My teaching experience is wide as I am teaching my son by myself quite successfully. We are not making documentaries and winning awards together only, but we are also playing guitars and singing together also. All the information about me, my films, my music, our journey with my son is available on my website. I have an adult daughter whom I taught partially myself. She is 26 now and she is a nurse in the emergency department in the hospital.
I am teaching how to make documentaries from scratch - from zero to hero. My lessons are quite unique as I put my whole experience in this course. I am leading my students from the idea of the film to it's screening.
