This 30-minute class designed for 12-17-year-olds, we'll embark on an empowering journey that combines insightful discussions, interactive activities, and the sweet delight of treats.

What will be taught?
This class is tailored to teach teens practical and age-appropriate self-care techniques, fostering resilience, and cultivating a positive mindset. We'll delve into the importance of self-love and provide tools for nurturing their mental well-being.

What topics will you cover?
Topics include self-care, mindfulness exercises, building positive relationships, and the significance of fostering a healthy mindset during the teenage years. We'll explore the sweet intersection where self-care meets self-love.

How is the class structured?
The class is thoughtfully structured to keep teens engaged and inspired. We'll start with an interactive introduction, followed by a lesson, and tailored activities. 

My teaching style is dynamic and student-centered. I aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every participant feels heard and valued. I use relatable examples and encourage active participation to keep the class engaging and relevant.

The intention of the class is not to elicit reports of personal experiences with mental health from learners. This class will not be taught as therapy or group therapy. If the learner begins to share any personal mental health concerns I will kindly ask the learner to refrain from further discussion in front of the class and to continue the conversation with a trusted adult. If a learner ever shares something that is concerning, I will reach out to parents after class depending on the context of the information Note: Review Outschool's Community Standards before class to ensure that learners remember to keep personal information private.

My educational background is in Mental Health Counseling (M.S). As I therapist, I have 8 years of experience working with teens and youth as it pertains to mental health strategies and tools. Additionally, I have completed child development and brain development research. I am immensely passionate about teaching youth about mental health and have completed years of doing so as a therapist and educator. Due to my background and expertise, I will be able to teach this topic from a developmentally appropriate point of view. I have spent years creating age-appropriate mental health content for teens and have a true passion for the field of mental health.
