Students will understand how waves are formed and what physical conditions are best for surfing, what different types of weather events and climate change mean for surfers, and what types of pollution can have an impact on the marine life that affect surfers in the ocean. 

I have a master's degree in biological oceanography and two years of experience teaching/creating curriculum for ocean science classes specifically. I also have created and led a variety of environmental education programs, taught multiple environmental science classes, and designed an array of STEM curriculum for learners of all ages for the past eleven years. I have surfed my whole life as well, growing up along the eastern shore of the United States.
