In this class, we will discuss the character the Hulk, from the Marvel Universe.  We will discuss the history  of the character and the differences and similarities between the comic book story line and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  We will also explore the process of how the Hulk got his powers and how they have changed over the evolution of the comics and movies.  We will also discuss the mechanism with which his powers manifest, namely anger.  We will discuss the physiology and psychology behind anger and how it effects our bodies and minds.  

We will learn some basic concepts in physics, chemistry, biology and other sciences as they relate to the Hulk and his abilities.  A general understanding of some terms (provided in the handout) is preferred, but not required.  We will not dive deeply into the science and physics and I will very rarely turn to formula or calculations.  Most scientific discussion will be to provoke new ideas, perspective and critical thinking.  There will be no homework assigned and no tests given.  The format will be discussion and question & answer.

I tend to bend to the momentum of the class.  If the participants are steering things in a particular direction, I tend to go down that path.  In the end, my goal is to hopefully introduce some new information about the hero, science and our world around us.  I hope to inspire new ways of looking at things and even challenge conventional thinking.  Learners with advanced knowledge of science might not be challenged by the content of the class.
