Get ready for fifth grade with this fun and engaging summer math camp! In this interactive 4th Grade Math Review & 5th Grade Prep course, students will review key fourth-grade math concepts to strengthen skills and build confidence before entering fifth grade. Topics include multi-digit multiplication, long division, fractions, decimals, factors, multiples, and multi-step word problems. What to Expect: - Interactive Learning – Each lesson starts with a class discussion to assess students’ prior knowledge and make real-world connections. - Engaging Instruction – Using the "I Do, We Do, You Do" method, students will first observe, then practice together, and finally apply their skills independently with support. - Hands-On Practice – Students will solve math problems, play interactive games, and complete real-world challenges. - Critical Thinking & Discussion – Thought-provoking questions will encourage problem-solving and deeper understanding. - Optional Homework & Review – Additional practice worksheets and review materials will be available upon request. Who Should Enroll? - Best for ages 8-11 or learners who want to review fourth-grade math before starting fifth grade. - Students should have some familiarity with basic multiplication, division, fractions, and place value. - Great for summer learning, skill reinforcement, or homeschool enrichment! Class Requirements: 📝 Materials Needed: A whiteboard & marker or paper & pencil. This curriculum was developed by and used with the permission from Ms. Ashley, an SBA admin and teacher. Ms. Ashley graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in both education and mathematics. Later, she went on to also earn a TESOL teacher’s certificate. She has taught over 10,000+ virtual classes in all subjects over several years on different platforms. She has 18+ years of tutoring/teaching experience, both virtual and in-person, as well as 16 years+ of experience as a volunteer teacher, tutor, and coach in schools and classrooms. In addition to teaching, Ms. Ashley is part of curriculum development and review team for an online ELA and math teaching/tutoring company, where she also serves as a Learning Partner and Academic Advisor for incoming students. Other related experience includes ELA and math tutoring the University of Connecticut Student Center, substitute teaching in the public school system and working for five years as a Financial Controller of a litigation support firm with offices across the United States. Ms. Ashley truly values each and every student, and she hopes to help them to find a love of learning.리뷰
