Our Spelling & Reading Skills Camp focuses on strengthening spelling patterns, phonics, and word recognition—key building blocks of fluent reading and writing.

Each week, students will explore common spelling rules, word families, and sight words through engaging mini-lessons, hands-on word work, fun spelling games, and short reading passages. Daily practice and repetition help reinforce new skills while keeping learning fun and meaningful.

Campers will work on:

  * Phonics and decoding strategies

  * Word families and syllable rules

  * Common spelling patterns and tricky words

  * Vocabulary and fluency through connected reading

  * Spelling confidence in both writing and reading aloud

This class is ideal for students who need extra spelling support, want to sharpen their reading skills, or just love playing with words! Students will interact daily through teacher-led lessons, group activities, and individual practice, and will complete the camp with a clear picture of their spelling progress and reading growth.

  * Word Meaning & Vocabulary Building

  * This camp is interactive, supportive, and multisensory, using:

  * Direct instruction with visuals and anchor charts

  * Hands-on practice with manipulatives and word sorts

  * Games (spelling bingo, “build-a-word,” word races)

  * Mini whiteboards and spelling journals

  * Read-alouds and short phonics-based reading passages

  * Instruction is differentiated and includes frequent check-ins and reteaching as needed.
