Welcome to Spanish 4/AP With SeÑOra Nicely! 

AP® Spanish Language and Culture is a rigorous course, which provides students the opportunity to develop language proficiency at an advanced (college) level. The content is largely determined by the AP Course Description and curricular requirements (CR). The goal of this course is to prepare the students for the AP® Spanish Language and Culture Exam.

AP® Spanish Language and Culture is a language acquisition course designed to provide students with the necessary skills and intercultural understanding to enable them to communicate successfully in an environment where Spanish is spoken and as such, is an immersion experience requiring almost exclusive use of Spanish, a requirement which is reflected in the class participation grade.

Students will learn about culture using authentic materials that are representative of the Spanish-speaking world. Materials include a variety of different media, e.g., journalistic and literary works, podcasts, interviews, movies, charts, and graphs.

This course will not only include readings and discussions in the themes required by College Board, it will reinforce all aspects of the Spanish Language to include grammar, writing techniques, organization of a good essay, and techniques of good oral presentations. 

The AP® Spanish Language and Culture course is structured around the following six themes and curricular requirements (CR 6):

Unit 4: Beauty and Aesthetics
Unit 5: Science and Technology
Unit 6: Global Challenges
