Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Beginner Level
Welcome to our Space Camp Self Paced Course!

In this self-paced course, learners will view and interact with 4 lessons about space topics! Learners only need to bring paper and something to draw with to class. The lessons are pre-recorded, so learners may draw and learn at their own pace.

This is a self-paced class with no live meetings, although I am available for replies and responses or feedback.

Our puppet friends with funny voices will sometimes join us as learners get to draw space topics using basic shapes and drawing techniques. The lessons are ideal for learners ages 4 to 7 or for those who have very minimal drawing experience.

The drawing portion of the lessons are verbalized and drawn in a slow, age-appropriate manner for learners to follow along and to pause the video if they need more time.

(See a sample of the class material and teaching style in the Intro Video for this Class)

Basic information about space topics is also given in short, memorable sentences such as “The holes on the moon are called craters” and/or “Solar Flares help to make the Northern Lights”.

Lesson 1 - Rockets | Moon Craters | Satellites | Earth | Constellations | Space Monsters

Lesson 2 - Solar Flares + Northern Lights | The Asteroid Belt w/Planets | Space Telescopes | Galaxies

Lesson 3 - Space Junk | Voyager | IO (Volcano Moon of Jupiter) | Enceladus (Icy Moon of Saturn)

Lesson 4 - Mission Control | The Space Station | Telescopes | The Solar System

During each lesson, learners will be shown videos and pictures/graphics of the topic of discussion. I’ll introduce a tutorial of how to draw the topic using basic shapes with proper time to draw. We’ll also do a review of the material we’ve learned each week.

Learners are encouraged to learn the material at a convenient time and to reach out to the teacher for questions along with sharing their work in the classroom. We encourage parents/grownups to post their learners work in the classroom tab for weekly interaction.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions and let's have fun with our exploration of Space!
