**Please message me regarding availability!** The goal of this class is for each student to HAVE FUN creating their own songs and learn how to be even better songwriters!! I teach this kind of class at the Country Music Hall of Fame. In this songwriting club, students will learn how to write songs and collaborate with their fellow students. They will learn how to write their own lyrics and create a melody to make their own song. The goal of the course is to equip the learners with the tools necessary to write a great song, share in the joy of the creative process and start or write at least one song each day in class! Depending on class size and student needs and levels, there is also an option to write individual songs and share them with the class. The curriculum will address the following topics and answer the following questions: Topic 1: What is songwriting? What are the parts of a song? What careers are there in songwriting? What is a title and a hook of a song? What is subject and theme? Topic 2: What is rhythm and what are syllables? What does rhyming/rhyme scheme mean in songwriting? How do you create strong images in your song and why are they important? What does it look like to write focused lyrics? Topic 3: Students will brainstorm individual song topics and share with the class. The class will choose a topic and write a song togeher. Topic 4: After brainstorming for a new subject, students will write their own verse, chorus and bridge. Topic 5: Learners will have the opportunity to perform an original song for the class. I will teach by utilizing interactive screen-sharing, class discussions and break out rooms. I am passionate about each learner leaving the class with a joy in their heart for songwriting and songs they are both proud of and eager to share with others!
