This class will help young learners begin to build a foundation for an important musical skill - solfege or solfeggio! Solfege is a system that helps train the ear to recognize relationships between pitches and hear patterns in music. It is never too soon to begin building this musical foundation! Over the four week course learners will learn the solfege syllables (do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti) and the hand signs used for each. In each lesson we will play different musical games, including...

I have two bachelors degrees in music (BA in Music and BM in Music Therapy). I have been part of many choirs, bands, and orchestras throughout my life - from community choirs to district band to the Cappella Giulia (choir) of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. I have always loved music and I love teaching young learners how to play, sing, read, etc.
