수업 소개
In this class your child will be have the chance to practice Active Listening, Following Directions, Collaborating/Sharing, Patience/Perseverance, Empathy, Respect, and a Growth Mindset all while learning through play by creating with play-doh. I will present a task for your child to complete. "Build something with wheels." And your child will have a few minutes to create something out of play-doh! The class structure will consist of teacher directions, class sharing ideas of their thinking, time to build, and time to share. My teaching style is calm and encouraging! Students will have a chance to practice perseverance as the tasks will start off simple and increase with following multi-step directions. They will have the chance to practice having a growth mindset as they will only be given a limited time to create and build. As the opportunities presents itself I will model respect and having empathy for others as frustrations arise. This is an interactive class that will allow time for the students to ask each other questions about their creations! Please, let me know if you are interested but are unable to find a time that works for your schedule! I'm still working to find the best times for families.

-Play-doh will be used during this lesson. Please, be advised that Play-doh may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease.
-Google Slides may be used during this class. No account is needed. It will simply be used while I screen-share.

With 18+ years in the elementary classroom I have seen first-hand the importance of students having a good foundation in social-emotional skills to be more successful with their learning! I spent four years in the preschool classroom, five years in the kindergarten classroom, and seven years in the first grade classroom. It has become more and more concerning to me the lack of social skills that first graders were coming to the classroom with and unfortunately I saw just how much this impacted their learning.
