Week 1
Lesson 1
Introduction and Overview of the Course
We will discuss what it means to be an entrepreneur and explore the pros and cons of starting your own business.  The students will then brainstorm several ideas while the teacher will facilitate in narrowing them down to realistic, age-appropriate business concepts.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Creating a Business Plan
Students will learn what a business plan is and the importance of having one.  Together we will go over the parts of the business plan and create a customized plan for each student's business idea. 
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Business Finances
Students will learn about income and expenses as it pertains to their business.  They will learn basic bookkeeping and how to determine profit and loss.  We will also discuss setting SMART goals and reinvesting into your business for future growth.  
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Marketing
We will go over creating a marketing plan and the different avenues for customer acquisition.  We will discuss words that sell and go through various strategies for advertising in an age-appropriate way.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Ready to Launch
In the final class, we will dig into what it takes to provide excellent customer service before, during, and after the sale.  Each student will have the basic skills and understanding to launch their business.
