Music is a must! Taking a short break to sing some fun songs with friends is a great way to "reset" a tired brain. Music can help learners to refresh and renew their focus. Along the way, they will learn some fun, memorable songs and build a fun-filled community! We'll sing lots of crazy and catchy songs: favorite "camp" songs, fun folk song classics, call-and-response chants, and much, much more. We'll do a few familiar songs, as well as new-to-you numbers that are sure to get your toes...
Learners will: . . . develop music and language skills . . . practice self-expression and use imagination and creativity . . . develop social skills
I have a bachelor's degree in music education and have taught children for 30 years. I have taught music in a wide variety of settings—public schools, Musikgarten, homeschool co-ops, church programs, and many others. I am also a professional storyteller and certified reading specialist.
We will be doing lots of movement in this class. Please ensure that your child has a safe space in which to move. If needed, push furniture out of the way to create an open space for movement. Please look for and remove any items which could potentially be trip hazards. Thank you!
