My name is teacher Dena! I'm an ESL teacher, reaching 8,500 Chinese students and counting.  I'm very excited, upbeat, and passionate about teaching. I love combining hard work with fun while learning. 

My top three popular classes are creative writing, dance, and Pokemon club. Teaching dance is my happy place! My son and I love collecting Pokemon cards! Writing creative short stories makes writing fun!

I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, as well as TESOL certification for teaching English as a second language to students K-6. I have experience both in the classroom and out. My first experience in the classroom was working in a 2nd grade English class. From there, my passion for teaching led to many different avenues. I spend a lot of time homeschooling my son, who has opened a whole new world of learning.  

I believe every student has not only the ability to learn but, should be given the opportunity to learn at their own pace. Learning should be both memorable and fun! I love that Outschool provides learners the opportunity to learn about any topic that interests them.  I hope to create classes based on my passions and what other learners are interested in.
