This course is an inquiry based class where students will learn how to start science based inquiries. Children attend with toys or other items of interest. Each student will share one thing, or more if there is time permitting. We will be focusing on noticing an item or something about an item and scaffold asking questions we will also focus on emerging social interactions. For each class we will use strategies which work best for each student to make the class a positive environment for them. Some strategies and adjustments for early or busy learners that will be supported in class may be the need for more movement, may be the time to be the observer instead of a participant, may be the ability to focus on one topic, may be the need for time for their emerging ability to share turns or other emerging skills. We may include older students to help facilitate a positive learning environment. The teacher will support where a student is at developmentally and facilitate to move students through different processes such as inquiry learning, and social skills. This class is suitable for the young learner who wishes to share while working on developmentally appropriate skills, this class is also suitable for learners who want to share but are neurodiverse and need extra adjustments to allow them to flourish to allow their strengths to shine through. Please just message if your child is outside the age range so that I can get to know your child before class. If you have taken a class with me before you get a three dollar discount. Just message me after enrolling. Image Credit: Eddie Kopp from Unsplash

I run a forest kindergarten and natural learning program for almost 10 years using Inquiry and Project Based Learning working with young learners and neurodiverse learners. I have worked with families in the education field for more than 20 years creating and adjusting current education programs to bring out the strengths of neurodiverse learners to allow them an opportunity to flourish. I have my Masters of Education in Sustainability, Creativity and Innovation which focuses on innovative learning approaches such as online and in person inquiry and project based learning.
