As this 4-week FLEX class is geared towards learners of ANY musical ability or level, here are some examples of realistic goals set for each:

Beginning student example-
Adrian, who is a little shy about meeting new people, wants to try guitar after just receiving one as a birthday present. Without any experience on any musical instrument and no prior music classes, doing a self-paced class with guided learning at the beginning gives Adrian a chance to see what learning guitar would be like while getting to work with and know an instructor at a comfortable and slow pace.

Intermediate student example-
Amory, a learner of piano for 2 years, is too busy to have a set time for lessons but wants to continue practicing music reading and song performing skills with an instructor. Having custom resources created to help Amory progress into more advanced reading and performance by sharing videos with a professional musician between a busy schedule makes achieving these goals much easier!

Advanced student example-  
Morgan performs in the high school musical theater program, sometimes even as a lead that sings some of the most important numbers! However, Morgan's challenged by having to do multiple shows in a weekend and wants to work on endurance techniques while still having power with every performance. It would also help to get ready to audition for larger musical theater productions. Some of the collaborations between Morgan and instructor are geared towards specific exercises and demo reel materials for submissions that musical theater directors can consider.

Even if Adrian, Amory, and Morgan were enrolled in the same section, we'd still have many ways to interact with all learners and instructor at once while encouraging our various instrument goals and levels!

With 24 years of cumulative experience as a curriculum specialist, professional recording & performing artist, and multi-instrumental private, group, and school music educator, Amanda is offering this 4-week FLEX class as a means for helping learners strategize with musical goals in order to apply such skills to other areas of interest throughout their lives. She currently has private students throughout the US from 6-60 with many instruments that meet with her weekly. Offering weekly lessons with a self-paced approach gives her great joy by innovating learning techniques for online education that she has been specializing in since 2017.

Google Slides, Google Jamboard, and any other Google-related content will use permissions that do not require sign-in. Notation websites, such as Ultimate Guitar, will be utilized as resources that are free but may need correcting as the content is user-contributed. Any websites that have paid membership options but are free with limited time or features will be identified, such as Soundtrap (online recording software) and Noteflight (online notation software).
