Class Experience: This 1-on-1 class is designed to help students build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being through the practices of self-love, gratitude, affirmations, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning (SEL). Each lesson is tailored to the student's unique needs and pace, providing a personalized and interactive experience. What will be taught? Self-Love: How to develop a positive relationship with oneself and practice self-compassion. Gratitude: Exploring the power of gratitude and how it can shift perspectives and improve overall well-being. Affirmations: Creating and using affirmations to build self-esteem and challenge negative thinking. Mindfulness: Learning techniques to stay present, calm, and aware of emotions, helping to manage stress and anxiety. SEL (Social-Emotional Learning): Understanding emotions, empathy, and how to build strong, positive relationships with others. Topics Covered: The Science of Self-Love: Understanding why self-love is important and how it shapes emotional health. Gratitude Practices: Exploring ways to practice gratitude daily and the benefits of doing so. Creating Affirmations: Crafting personalized affirmations that foster self-confidence and resilience. Mindfulness Techniques: Techniques such as deep breathing, body scanning, and grounding exercises. Emotional Regulation: Recognizing and managing emotions effectively with gratitude and mindfulness. Class Structure: Opening Reflection (5 minutes): A brief mindfulness or gratitude activity to center the student and prepare for the lesson. Main Lesson (10 minutes): Focused on the topic of the day. I’ll introduce concepts through discussion, explain their importance, and guide the student through activities like journaling, creating affirmations, and practicing mindfulness. Interactive Activities (5 minutes): Activities may include crafting affirmations, gratitude journaling, role-playing exercises, or mindfulness exercises to practice in real time. Closing (5 minutes): A short reflection on what was learned, as well as setting goals or challenges for the student to work on between classes. How will I teach? I believe in a relaxed, supportive, and conversational teaching style. My goal is to create a safe space where the student feels comfortable sharing and exploring new ideas. I use a combination of explanation, discussion, hands-on activities, and positive reinforcement to keep students engaged. Each lesson is adapted to meet the student's individual pace, interests, and learning style. Interaction with Learners: Discussion: I encourage students to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences throughout the class. This promotes engagement and allows for deeper reflection. Activities & Exercises: Students will actively participate in creating affirmations, practicing mindfulness, and reflecting on gratitude. Personalized Approach: I take time to connect with each student, ensuring the class resonates with them and supports their specific emotional growth. The class will be dynamic and interactive, blending gentle guidance with creative exercises, to help students connect with their emotions and grow into more resilient, confident individuals.

Comfortable Clothing – For any movement or mindfulness exercises that may require some light stretching or sitting comfortably (No additional cost). Small Box or Jar – For creating a "Gratitude Jar" (Optional, Approx. $3-$5, or students can use any container they already have). Access to a Quiet, Comfortable Space – A space where students can focus, reflect, and engage in mindfulness without distractions (No cost). Materials Provided by Teacher: All class materials, worksheets, activity guides, and resources will be provided digitally at no additional cost. Students will not need to purchase any additional textbooks or materials, as everything needed for the class will be shared electronically.

With over 20 years of experience in education, leadership, and business, I bring a deep passion for helping students thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. I have taught a wide range of subjects, including Financial Management, Entrepreneurship, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), and Mindfulness in Education. My background includes working with students of various age groups, from young children to adults, and in both classroom and workshop settings.
I hold a Master’s in Education, I am a licensed teacher and a certified Mindfulness Educator, trained specifically in how mindfulness practices can benefit both students and educators. This certification allows me to integrate mindfulness techniques into my teaching, providing students with tools to improve focus, manage stress, and cultivate self-awareness. I’ve also had the opportunity to lead workshops for teachers, empowering them with the skills to incorporate SEL and mindfulness into their classrooms.
In addition to my formal training, I have spent many years working directly with children, ranging from elementary school students to teenagers. I have worked in after-school programs, summer camps, and one-on-one tutoring sessions, tailoring my approach to meet the individual needs of each student. I find great joy in creating engaging, interactive lessons that encourage curiosity, creativity, and emotional growth.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child is unique and capable of achieving their full potential when supported in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. I focus on building strong relationships, fostering open communication, and encouraging self-expression and personal growth.
I am also a parent to four boys and enjoy spending time with them and our two playful dogs, which helps me connect with the children I teach on a personal level. My experiences as a mother further shape my understanding of how to support children’s emotional needs and create a nurturing, welcoming space for learning.
I am excited to bring my expertise and passion for mindfulness and emotional intelligence to your child’s learning journey, and I look forward to guiding them in building resilience, focus, and self-confidence!
