Students will read and discuss the book, Many Waters, fourth in the Time trilogy by Madeleine L'Engle. In six sessions students will be assigned the reading for each class and will discuss the sections read previously. Each class will provide insight into the ideas presented and explore ways we may have already seen some advances in the concepts, since the book was written in the 1980's. I have a Bachelor's Degree in education K-9 and have enjoyed teaching YA Literature for many years. I am a big fan of the genre. This author first inspired me at the age of ten, when I devoured "A Wrinkle in Time."
Each student will need a copy of the book: Many Waters by Madeleine L'Engle. The book can be purchased from Amazon or other booksellers. It should also be available from your local or school library. For students with reading difficulties, the book is also available from Audible in Audio format.
This story explores the biblical story of Noah, from a secular perspective. Our time travelers find themselves active participants in this event that is found in creation stories and myths all over the world and across all cultures. It is 4th in the Madeline L'engle Time series, which begins with 'A Wrinkle in Time".
