This class is about helping children understand what drugs are and the effects that they have on the organs. I always create a comfortable learning environment in which children become interested in the knowledge being imparted. I expect that through this class they will come to an understanding of why drug misuse is so detrimental not because someone told them so but because they will comprehend the actual effect of the drug on the body. There will be a clear path from the biological effects that leads them to understand the negative social and psychological effects that can also ensue. This class will therefore encourage good decisions to say no to drugs by giving them foundational scientific knowledge. All content will be taught in an age-appropriate manner and I do not foresee anything that would have negative effects.
