Did you know that playing an instrument can...
*Improve your confidence. When you become better at refining your skills and notice your success, your confidence begins to soar.
*Sharpen your concentration. Research shows that musicians are quicker to notice their mistakes and fix them.
*Increase memory capacity. Research suggests that regularly learning an instrument changes the shape and power of your brain.
*Help with literacy and math skills. Since learning music uses these skills, it can help with the academic side as well. 

This one-on-one class is designed to:
-introduce new musicians to the beginning level of playing guitar, ukulele, or bass.
-build upon and refine the skills of more advanced players.
-teach students according to their level of experience.
-teach one or more skills like common guitar chords, proper hand positions, various strumming techniques, capos, basic guitar pedals, open/alternate tunings, and even some fingerpicking. 
-introduce the concept of home recording.

Learners can bring me a song they want to learn how to play and I will teach them how to play it. In this case, it would be helpful to send me the song at least 24 hours before class starts so I can be prepared for the lesson. 

My highest goal is that playing guitar would be a fun experience for everyone!

PLEASE NOTE:

*Having the instrument tuned before class starts increases the amount of learning time in class. I will be happy to help tune the guitar in class, but that will limit what I am able to teach that week. 

*Left-handed students should have a left-handed guitar. Technically, it's possible to re-string a right-handed guitar for a left handed student. But this should only be done by a professional.
