수업 소개
The best way to improve your SAT math score is to do SAT math problems! Each week we will cover 2 math topics from the Digital SAT. Students will be presented with a set of math problems. They will be given a set amount of time to complete each problem themselves and then we will discuss how to solve the problem by hand, as well as integrate DESMOS into our problem solving strategy (if applicable). Depending on the subject we may do a review lesson to go over any gaps in knowledge your student might have. I also may assign corresponding lessons from Khan academy to help fill those gaps in knowledge. I use questions from both the Digital SAT and the Linear SAT (the old SAT format) as they are both useful when teaching concepts. We will follow the schedule below and loop back around once we reach the end. This is an ongoing workshop. Students can join at any time and go through the 1-15 week series as many times as they want. Optional companion book: The College Panda SAT Math Book 3rd Edition (Digital). Schedule (1) Week of June 17 - Exponents/Radicals + Percents (2) Week of June 24 - Expressions + Manipulating Equations (3) Week of July 1 - Other Types of Equations + Functions (4) Week of July 8 - Lines/Linear Relationships + Interpreting Lines/Linear Models (5) Week of July 15 - Exponential vs Linear Growth + Rates, Conversions, Ratios (6) Week of July 22 - Word Problems + Quadratic Equations (7) Week of July 29 - Systems of Equations + Inequalities (8) Week of August 5 - Function Transformations + Quadratic Functions (9) Week of August 19 - Angles + Triangles (10) Week of August 26- Circles + Radians (11) Week of September 2 - Trigonometry + Area, Perimeter, Volume (12) Week of September 9 - Reading Data + Probability (13) Week of September 16 - Statistics I + Statistics II (14) Week of September 23 - Review (15) Week of September 30 - Review Fall 2024 SAT Test Dates Oct. 5th Nov. 2nd

수업 자료
Students must bring a paper and pencil/pen to class. If they plan on using a physical calculator on the SAT, then I recommend bringing the actual calculator they plan on using to class as well. Students should also have access to DESMOS during class.
