러시아어-읽고 쓰기

This ongoing class is for bilingual children who speak Russian at home and English at school. If your child knows Russian alphabet (preferably sounds of the letters), has basic Russian vocabulary and is able to speak in short sentences in Russian, then he/she will benefit from this class.

In this class, we will learn how to blend sounds of the letters and read syllables, short words and simple sentences. We will also practice writing letters, syllables and words in Russian. At each lesson, a puppet will help us review letters and build syllables. I will keep the same structure of each lesson varying activities slightly depending on the level of the learners.

There will be a variety of activities during the class, some easy and familiar, some tasks at their level, and some will be challenging (one step up in the development). I believe in differentiated approach, when the instruction is tailored to meet individual needs of each child. 

I will provide printouts for each lesson in the classroom tab. I recommend keeping them in a binder. 

Homework tasks are highly recommended. Consistency and practice will help with your child's progress. 
The class instruction is hundred percent in Russian by a native speaker, unless some clarification in English is needed. The class is recommended for children who do not live in Russian-speaking countries, but whose parents (one or both) speak Russian at home to them.

Week of October, 17:
letters Ы-М, reading syllables, short words

Week of October, 24:
letter Н, reading syllables, short words

Week of October, 31:
letter Х, reading syllables, short words
